Torsion Reactor
Stator/reactor element within a torque converter assembly. Redirects fluid flow to multiply torque during acceleration, then freewheels at coupling speed.
Stator/reactor element within a torque converter assembly. Redirects fluid flow from the turbine back to the pump at an optimal angle, multiplying torque during low-speed acceleration. Freewheels via a one-way clutch once the converter reaches coupling speed.

Torque Converter
Fluid coupling device that transmits and multiplies torque between the engine and automatic transmission. Allows the engine to idle while the vehicle is stationary.
Turbocharger
Exhaust-driven forced induction compressor. Uses exhaust gas energy to spin a turbine-compressor assembly, increasing intake air pressure for significant power gains with characteristic turbo lag.
